Where can I see the Listening Project curriculum?

The Listening Project curriculum, teacher guide, student guide, and lesson plans all get shared with teachers after they have completed the Listening Project 8-hour training prior to the start of their partnership.

Do teachers have to create lesson plans for the Listening Project?

Nope, we provide lesson plans for all 26-28 units! These lesson plans, however, are not inflexible. They are meant to be adapted and should be seen as the skeleton that scaffolds implementation. We find that some teachers adapt the lesson plans a lot while others stick to the provided method. Both are great and in both cases, the Listening Project staff actively communicates and works with teachers to provide the smoothest experience.

What exactly does the Listening Project measure?

Although we cannot publicly display our exact research measures, our Director, Holly Van Hare, is more than happy to discuss individual requests. Her email is hollyvanhare@nyu.edu.

Can the Listening Project be implemented in non-Humanities or English classes?

Absolutely! We have actively worked with teachers to iteratively adapt the curriculum to fit the academic and classroom standards of social studies and science courses, for example.
